A long break…

I hope you all had a great summer. I’ve taken a long break from the blog this summer. It’s not that I’ve been lazy, I’ve actually been working on several projects at the same time.

The first thing was redesigning my office.
The base is white:

I especially love the white floors:

I have to add this room used to be the playroom and was quite bright:

I’m now working on adding dashes of bright colours, especially yellow… Can’t wait to show you the result.

The second project, still ongoing, was to make a garden playroom for the girls. Here are a few pictures but I’ll blog about that more extensively at a later date.

I’ve also been working on my crochet techniques with lots of small little projects:

A Granny stripe blanket:

The pattern comes from a blog called Attic 24 where you can find loads of amazing tutorials.

A snail for the garden:

The pattern comes from here. It’s detailed and easy to follow. It was very funny to see this little snail come to life.

And of course flowers for the garden:

And finally, napkin rings for the girls (they use them as bracelets too):
There will be no more napkin switching with these beautiful napkin rings. Each girl chose the colour and design.

I have much more to show you for the garden playroom (plants and animals) but I’ll dedicate a full blog article to all that.

Paper Swans

I love browsing through Etsy, the handmade products, the creative articles, their ever changing homepage, the “pick your colour” option, etc.

Today I came across this article and thought I’d share it with you as I think what Ruti makes is absolutely amazing:

This young woman from Israel uses a paper folding technique from the Philippines to create beautiful swans and bowls out of colourful paper scraps.

Her shop is full of amazing paper creations.

Now I just need to find an excuse to buy one…

Crochet slippers

I started crochet a few months ago and I absolutely love it.
While looking for simple projects online, I came across this tutorial for Mary Jane slippers. I thought they were the perfect present for my Mum’s birthday as I know she always likes to wear slippers, even in the summer.
The tutorial is very easy to follow and even if you’re a beginner like me, the result is absolutely amazing.

Wooliehug coming very soon to One of a Kind

I’m very excited to announce the addition of a new designer to the One of a kind section of Bubble Tree House:

Wooliehugs are handmade crochet blankets made with acrylic wool, which is better wearing and can be machine washed, ideal for new parents as the blankets need to be washed quite a lot for your little one!

They come from an Irish designer called Gema: “Knitting & Crocheting have always been a part of my life, both my grandmothers were brilliant at knitting and made countless jumpers and woolie blankets for all their grandchildren. When I myself was pregnant with my first child my own mother taught me how to crochet and I have been doing it ever since, not only because I love the thrill of making something beautiful but also because of the joy I see in the faces of people who I give them to, My own son and his cousins are really attached to their wooliehug blankets, so much so I’ve had to make doubles for when one is in the wash!”

Gema is working on new models right now so keep an eye on the One of a Kind section for her latest designs…

I hope you will welcome this new addition with as much excitement as me!

Karen’s nursery

I’m very excited to publish the first pictures received from one of Bubble Tree House’s customers.

A few months ago, Karen bought some wallstickers for the two children bedroom she was redecorating.

Here are the pictures of the very stylish nursery she fashioned. Combining the beige and dark red with dark wood furniture, Karen made a a very elegant and a very calming nursery for her baby.
I will let you enjoy all the little details (click on the pictures to enlarge) :

Dreaming is free…

I came across the Hermes website yesterday. I first went on because I saw an article saying they design furniture and I must admit I was quite intrigued.

Needless to say I spent quite a lot of time browsing through their website. It is cleverly designed and full of surprises.

On top of the fabulous bags, shoes and other accessories in their on-line boutique

They have an amazing section called “The World of Hermes”.

There, you’ll discover a high tech saddle, make dance music with storage boxes, laugh at the horse impressions of the Hermes employees, and much much more…

I highly recommend a visit…. Enjoy!

The Postcards Project

Postcards are a great way to decorate a bedroom on a low budget. Add a few accessories and you can have an amazing decoration for a few euro.

For the past few weeks, we’ve been working on a new project involving postcards from Belle & Boo and other designers. We didn’t want to present you with the postcards on their own but we wanted to show you a few examples of what can be done with a little imagination…

I hope you will enjoy the result:

White ribbons for the dove collections:

A beautiful mobile for the Paper Plane:

The postcards will be in the Bubble Tree House stock soon, on their own or as a finished decoration.

One mum’s imagination

While her daughter is taking a nap, Adele Enersen creates magical worlds around her. Sweet, creative and absolutely amazing!

I’m sure her daughter will love to look at these pictures over and over when she grows up.

Check out her blog for more amazing pictures…

New pictures for the Boo tote bags

We’ve received today some great new pictures of the Belle & Boo tote bags.

I love their Countryside spirit; they make me want to go for a stride through the woods and enjoy a bicycle ride on country lanes…

Enchanting mobiles

I’m in the process of adding some new mobiles to the website. They’re quite impressive in size and in the number of levels they have.

Here is a baobab with animals on three different levels:

This one glows in the dark!

And this one is just perfect for all the little princesses out there:

They’re all from Djeco, a fabulous brand we’ve started working with. They also make beautiful wooden toys, amazingly fun card games and creativity kits… More on that last one shortly…
